Joined Avon Metals as a Trainee Trader in 1998, after graduating from college in Cheltenham. He was appointed Senior Trader in 2004, Commercial Director in 2005, Managing Director in 2006 and finally CEO in 2011.

Steven is Chairman of the Minor MetalsTrade Association (MMTA) Contracts Committee and an Ambassador for Gloucestershire.

In 2009 he was voted a Who's Who Top Young Business Leader and one of the Top 500 most influencial businesspeople in Gloucestershire. He has won the coveted Gloucestershire Young Businessperson of the Year award twice - first in 2007 and again in 2011.

In 2010, Steven became a Member of the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers and was inaugerated as a Fellow of the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management.

In 2012 he became a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

  John Verdon

  Chief Operating Officer

An engineer by training John Verdon co-founded Mil-Ver Metals with Steve Miles in 1981, and has held senior positions within the industry for 26 years.

He joined the Avon Group in 1998 and was appointed Operations Director of Avon Metals in 2003.

John designed and installed Avon Metals' latest induction melting foundry, commissioned in January 2006, and continues to develop and expand production & metal processing.
