The Cast Metals Industry Awards is an event organized every year by the Cast Metals Federation, which represents the whole of the UK cast metals.
The Award is made for the foundry that has taken both itself and the castings industry forward during the past 12 months, through innovation, expansion, new technology, investment or success through a combination of these.
The winners of the three Awards 2007 - for Supplier of the Year, Company Achievement and Component of the Year - were presented this edition by CMF's new Chairman of Council Richard Newby.
Gloucester-based Avon Metals has added yet another award to the company's heavily laden trophy cabinet, winning the Supplier of the Year Award for its combination of environmental and commercial success over the last 12 months. Avon was also recognised for its work on improving its own waste recycling and reduction in waste going to landfill.
"Winning the CMF supplier of the year award is a real honour and caps a fantastic year for Avon Metals," said Steven Munnoch, Managing Director.
It is the latest in a string of awards gained by the company in 2007.
"It shows that UK manufacturing companies can compete with lower cost regions on a global playing field through technical innovation, good customer support and sensible reinvestment of profits.
"This award is a credit to the 60-strong Avon Metals' staff who all work towards a common goal - to be the best we can be."
